He is survived by : his wife Carol; his children, Kasey and Robert; his sister Sharon Hilsgen (Rick); his nieces and nephews, Kelly Hilsgen, Crystal Hilsgen, Brian Hilsgen and Dan Hilsgen (Sally); his great-nephew Zach Hilsgen; his cousin Maureen Silvester (Ernie); and his friend Humboldt.

Donations to Mayo Clinic in Bruce's honor, in lieu of flowers, are preferred.
