He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Anthony Malerich and Phyllis Coles; his wife Marjorie Sullivan; his stepmother Helen Cherney Malerich; and his sisters, Mary Malerich, Sr. and Kathleen (Carmelle).

He is survived by: his daughter Leah Malerich (Steve); his grandchildren, James Anthony Malerich (Tony), Phillip Malerich, Dr. Sarah Minka, Mary Malerich, Carol Malerich, Ian Malerich, James Malerich (Jimmy) and Danette Malerich (late Jerry); his great grandchildren, Daniel Boemer, Thomas Boemer, Gerald Nelson, Jordan Nelson and Toni Marie O'Daniel (Steve); Dr. Karrah Cheruyot, Kristin Williams and Major Christopher O'Daniel.

Memorials may be directed to Minnesota Hospice – Lakeville, whose compassionate care in Tony's final days is deeply appreciated by the family.
