He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur and Mary Ethel Smith (Gifford); his former wife Donna Cramer; and his siblings, Chet (Neva Smith), Orville (Berneda Smith), William (Ruth Smith) and Ruth (Bud Gramenz).
He is survived by: his son James Arthur Smith (Jim); his wife Marcia Thoen; his grandchildren, Arthur Vance Corea-Smith (Danielle) and Aletha Dell Tarn (Ellis); his daughter-in-law Darien Smith; his sister-in-law Deb Melgaard (Dave); and his nieces and nephews, Sue Smith, Sandy Smith, Linda Curtis (Guy), Vicki Schaible (Kent), Deb Kessler (Dennis), Cathy Smith, Leisa Harris (Gregg), Steve Smith (Tracee), Kelsey Ronayne (Conor) and Jonathan Melgaard. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church (511 Groveland Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials preferred to Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.
