She was predeceased by: her spouse Sabo Aksoz (Rhawie); her parents, Verdo and Illo; her siblings, Iskender, Cemil, Zekiye, Besim, Fehmi and Ibrahim; and her son Edward.

She is survived by: her children, Suheyla (Hanna), Robert (Saide), Kenan (Mary) and Vildan; her grandchildren, Michael (Joann), Jacob (Leema), Edessa, Isabella, Simona, Stephanie (Paolo), Alex, Christopher, Jennifer, Connor, Brooke, Amanda (Ben), Jack and Sean; and her great grandchildren, John, Thomas, Liliana, Elisabeth, Alexander and David.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation, or the National Kidney Foundation.
