He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Thorne and Valeria Thorne (Hoffmann). He is survived by: his spouse Marion Smith of Minneapolis; his children, Julie of Bloomington, Drew of Bloomington and Bil (Diana) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Jacq, Simone, Caleb and Owen; and his brother Terry Thorne (Marlyn). He is also survived by other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mark's Episcopal Cemetery (519 Oak Grove St, Minneapolis, MN 55403).
In honor of Dale, memorials are preferred to Second Harvest Heartland.
