It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Philip Hertsgaard (Minneapolis, Minnesota), born in Fargo, North Dakota, who passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. As John Philip departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John Philip may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John Philip leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip O. Hertsgaard and Harriet I. Hertsgaard (Owen). He is survived by: his brother David Hertsgaard of Los Angeles, CA.; his sister-in-law Nancy Oltvedt Campbell; his niece Sara Oltvedt (Dan Olson); his nephew John Oltvedt; his great-nephew Camden; and his great-niece Nora.
