He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Neary and Winifred Neary (O'Reilly); his wife Ruth; and his siblings, Pete, Tim and Kathy.

He is survived by: his children, Mary "Beth" Kuhlmann (George), Michael (Jill), Mark (Melanie) and Margaret "Molly" Neary; his grandchildren, Steven (Paula), Philip, David and Elizabeth Kuhlmann; his daughters, Julia and Catherine Neary; his great grandchild Talia Kuhlmann; and his sisters, Eileen Plante and Mary Wynn Kaeding. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes memorial donations be made to Catholic Eldercare, Our Lady of Peace Hospice or University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
