He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Gessler and Evelyn Gessler; and his siblings, Jim, Bob and Barbara Gessler Peters.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Rick Jr. (Laura) and Krista (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Nathan, Lane, Mia Gessler and Jack Kehoe.
In lieu of flowers, Rick requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
