He is survived by: his wife Sandra Westby (Hanson); his children, Kathleen Westby (Peter), Steve Westby (Kelli) and Jon Westby (Catherine); his grandchildren, Claire Verdi, Madeline Parks, James Westby and Henry Westby; his siblings, Ann Johnson (Paul), Jim Westby (Gail), Jerry Westby (Eloise), Barb Carlson (late Bill) and Judy Jungwirth (Helen); and his sister-in-law Ruth Westby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the South High Foundation and Faith Mennonite Church.
