He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; his children, Mikearl (Phyllis), Rickey Beard of Birmingham, AL, Linda Hobbs (Booker), Cassandra Martin (Christopher) of Brighton, AL, Michelle Vason (Michael), Deborah Johnson, LaTonja Briggins (Carl) of Birmingham, AL and Charissa; his stepson Jeffrey Wolf (Heather); his son Dean (Elizabeth); and his sister Willie Nell Larkins of Shorewood, IL. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robbinsdale Chapel (3888 W Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale, MN 55422). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel (3888 W Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale, MN 55422). A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
