He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra; his parents, Anton Austad and Alma Austad; and his siblings, Jerry, Kermit and Darlene.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald (Deena) and Theresa (Walter); his foster son Dale Nelson; his grandchildren, Kevin, Kimberly (Kohl), Shaen and Kenneth; and his siblings, Earl, Sylvia, Laverne and Shirley. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bradshaw (3131 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery (7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450).
