He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene F. Sonnek and Florence Sonnek (Latusek); and his sisters, Jean Hefner (Jim) and Joanne Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Donna of Minnesota Lake, MN; his sons, Doug Sonnek (Winnie) and John Sonnek (Amanda Robinson); his grandchildren, Claire, Charles Sonnek, McKenzie and Samuel Sonnek; his siblings, Bernard Sonnek (Peggy) and Dorothy Lenertz (Bob); and his brother-in-law Pete Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nasinec Funeral Home (789 Business Park Dr, Wells, MN 56097). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (100 Park St N, Minnesota Lake, MN 56068).
