He is survived by: his wife Emelie Pauline Blegen; his children, Kevin Augustine (Catherine) and Marget Schmidtke (David); his grandchildren, Karl Schmidtke (Bridget), Emma Schmidtke (Carl Cusack) and Joshua Augustine; his great grandchildren, Josie Lou Schmidtke and William Robert Schmidtke; and his sister Phyllis Leonard. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
