He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Ess and Lillian Ess (Siebenaler); his brother Tom; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Feltmann and Dick Schalow.
He is survived by: his pets, Lilly and Rocky; his sisters, Mary Kay and Cindy; and his sister-in-law Judy. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews; and 21 great- and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
