He was predeceased by: his father Reno Shultz; his former wife Marlys Tebben of Maynard, MN; his wife Sharon Lynne of Clarkfield, MN.; his children, Kevin Shultz and Jeryl Martin; and his brother-in-law Darrell Long.

He is survived by: his son Scott Shultz (Shelley); his stepsons, Chris Grengs of Connecticut and Jon Grengs; his siblings, DeWayne (Linda) and Donna Long of Cold Spring, MN; and his son-in-law Howard Martin. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, many step grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
