Harlis Emkes Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harlis Emkes of Montevideo, Minnesota, who passed away on December 26, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Menno Emkes and Sabena Emkes (Zimmer); his wife Sharon Tammen; and his brother-in-law Ronald Tammen (Burnell). He is survived by: his sons, Daren Emkes (Renae) of Maynard and Noel Emkes (Courtney) of Clara City; his grandchildren, Danielle Oswald (Wesley), MaKayla Huber (Saam), Aubree Schoumaker, Hayden Emkes and Landon Emkes; his great grandchildren, Laikyn, Brixlee and Maisie; and his siblings, Jerlyn Norduane (Dean) of Wood Lake, Shirley Anderson (Wayne) of Dawson, Dodie Sletten (Jim) of Maple Grove and Mark Tammen (Kathy) of Maynard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
