With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karl De Jong of Montevideo, Minnesota, who passed away on November 27, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond DeJong and Mina DeJong (Van Der Vliet); his in-laws, LeRoy and Carmen Tinderholt; his siblings, Roger DeJong and Debra DeJong; and his nephew Darrell Glenn.
He is survived by: his wife LaVon Tinderholt of Savior's Lutheran Church; his children, Debra Smith (Kyle) of Herman, MN, Karla Drown (Sam) of Marshall, MN, Travis DeJong (Julie) of Orono, MN and Troy DeJong (Angie) of Montevideo, MN; his grandchildren, Sarah Smith (Tyler), Justin Mettling, Joshua Jackson, Tyler DeJong, Hailey Jackson, Brooke DeJong, Ally DeJong, Nate Drown, Ashley DeJong and Aiden DeJong; and his siblings, Marvin DeJong (Beva), Vernon DeJong (Barb), Leonore Johnson (Brad), Cheryl VanRoekel (Harv), Alexandria and Darrell DeJong (Vicki). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
