It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kim Kathleen Velde of Montevideo, Minnesota, who passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Kurtzbein and June Kurtzbein (Sunderland); and her brothers, Robert and Paul Kurtzbein. She is survived by: her children, Bess Johnson of Appleton, Birk Hofstad of Montevideo and Rebecca Rice (Truman) of Duluth; her grandchildren, Torgen and Tosten; her sister Heidi Bergo (Arlin); and her nephew Elijah Bergo (Erin).

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Le Mar Ranch Equine Center.
