He is survived by: his sister Sue Easterlund (Doug); his sibling's children, Mary Gerkin (George), Pamela Peterson, Brent Peterson (Bonnie), David Davis (Rolene), Ruthie Kugler (Gary), Renie Pollack, Mitchell Davis (Vi), Valerie Peterson, Craig Peterson (Gerri), Toni Cremer (Wayne), Melissa Johnson (Bill), Kimberly LeGro (Andy), Michelle Reed, Peter Easterlund (Laurenda), Gregory Easterlund (Jennifer) and Brenda Ritter (Craig); his sister-in-law Pam Peterson; and his cousin Joseph Harrison (Kris).
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo, often donating to their food shelf and other missions.
