She is survived by : her children, Mark Scheffert (Roxanne) of Las Vegas, NV, Scott Scheffert (Diane) of Watertown, SD, Mary Kaye Keohen (Kevin) of Shakopee, Donna Hanson (Dale) of New Prague and Susan Broholm (Bryan) of Shakopee; and her sister-in-law Diana Svobodny of New Prague. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

“I am so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of sitting in the nurses office with her when I was a kid. She had such a comforting presence, I could have stayed there all day! I have to think she was one of the nurses that influenced my decision to enter the nursing profession too. I feel very lucky to have known Shirley.”
