He was predeceased by : his siblings, Edward Hellman, Bernice Hanson, Vanita Hellman, Selma Hellman, Floyd Hellman and Donny Hellman; his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Hanson, Brad "Ole" Olson, Bob Wenger and Barb Hellman; and his parents, Jerome Hellman and Margaret Hellman (Reichert).

He is survived by : his sons, Randy Hellman (Julie) and Brian Hellman (Rachel); his grandchildren, Nathan Hellman, Kalley Hellman, Jackie Hellman, Kaitlyn Scherber (Carsten), Colton Hellman, Tricia Hellman and Katrina Hellman; and his siblings, Victor Hellman, Katherine Helfrich (Harvey), Irene Wenger, Sandra Olson, Mike Hellman (Sue) and Pam Stanton (Randy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred in Jerry's name to Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
