With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Johnson of Monticello, Minnesota, who passed away on July 15, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Johnson and Sylvia Johnson (Schwalbe); his siblings, Skip, Butch, Tom, Danny and Bonnie; his stepdaughter Chris Thole; and his grandson Nick Chock.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen Johnson (Vinny), Cory Johnson, Cara Trebbensee and Casey Johnson; his grandchildren, Madalyn, Charlie and Asher; and his sisters, Pat Williams (Ed), Lynn Johnson and Joan Buske. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

“Our deepest condolences to the family of Jim. We didn’t get a chance to know Jim very long, but the few short months that we did… well let me tell you a story. He and my dad were room mates, and when the care center was thinking about moving my dad to another room, we told them that they would have to move Jim too! We told him this and he said the sweetest thing. He said, “Well we do share the same guy” ❤️ We went down and sat with Jim many times, had very good talks, played cards, had pizza.”
