She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Szallar and Julia Szallar (Vargo); her husband Donald J. Carter; her children, Steve Carter and Lori Carter; her brother Frank Szallar; and her daughter-in-law Kathy Carter.

She is survived by: her children, Michael, Kevan Carter, Pamela J. Myers and Brenda Cipiti (Jeff); her brothers, Don (Marlene) and Dick Szallar (Shirley); her grandchildren, Tammy, Joy, Joe and K. C.; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Carter. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
