He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur P. Diercks and Christine Diercks; and his son Dwight Arthur Diercks (Beth). He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his daughters, Carolyn (Kevin) and Maren (Paul); and his grandchildren, Berit (Laura), Mikaela (Jimmy), Tate (Nick), Ian and Avery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Concordia College, or the Alzheimer's Association.
