He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eduard Sellent and Amanda Sellent (Liebenow); his wife Barbara Fankhanel; his former wife Barb; his children, Edward, Jim, Barb Moses of San Diego, CA, Carl Sellent (Barb), San Diego and Steve Sellent (Nadine Hillesheim); his daughter-in-law Carol Sellent (Dennis Bollinger) of West Fargo, ND; and his grandchildren, Amanda Dablow (Nick), Kristin Sellent, William Sellent, Jordan Klovstad (Brittney Just) and Joni Hjalmquist (Tyler).

The family requests any memorials be sent to Ed's favorite charity, Great Plains Food Bank, or a local food pantry.

“It is seems prescient for me to have thoughts of Mr. Sellent only a couple of weeks before his death. He was one of my teachers in junior high in Moorhead and was the best I ever had in 18 years of schooling. In my second quarter calculus course in college I missed 3 weeks of class due to illness. To catch me up, Mr. Sellent tutored me in integration and differentiation at his kitchen table. He was truly amazing. It is with fond and grateful memories I say farewell Mr. Sellent. GaryN.”
