He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Markusen and Petra Markusen (Ohren); and his brother Edwin "Sonny" Markusen Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Lund; his daughter Jessica Markusen; his brothers, Erling and Stanley Markusen; his brothers-in-law, Richard and John Lund; and his nephew Jeremy Lund (Mark). He is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Norway Lutheran Trust, Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, Concordia College Music Department, or Waldorf Lutheran Foundation.
