He was predeceased by: his parents, William Goodwill and Lydia Goodwill (Miller); his wife Mavis "Mim" Hakanson; his siblings, Jack Goodwill and Betty Hestdalen; and his grandson Cale Goodwill.

He is survived by: his close friend Les Haug; his friend John Ohnstad; his children, William Goodwill (Rita), Patricia Anderson (Rick), Douglas Goodwill (Lynn) and Denise Goodwill (Arlan Kunz); his grandchildren, Dr. Stacy Goodwill (Dan Raymond), Blair Anderson (Jodi) and Natalie Goodwill; his great grandchildren, Grant Raymond, Emma Blue Anderson and Aspen Wittenberg; and his sister-in-law Lorelei Goodwill of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
