It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherwood Eugene Peterson Sr. of Moorhead, Minnesota, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Peterson and Hope Peterson (Young) of John's Hospital; and his siblings, Shirley Krzyzaniak Engebretson, Betty Walstad, LaRue Kocourek and James Arthur.
He is survived by: his wife Marilynn Alme; his sons, Sherwood Peterson, Jr. (Wendy) of Rochester, MN, Charles Peterson (Melissa) of Moorhead, MN and John Peterson of Moorhead, MN; his grandchildren, Andrew Peterson (Darby) of Farmington, MN and Hannah Peterson of Rochester, MN; and his great grandchild Dempsey Peterson. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Home (605 2nd Ave S, Moorhead, MN 56560). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (210 7th St S, Moorhead, MN 56560). A burial was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Elmwood Cemetery.
