We bid farewell to Janis Simons in Moose Lake, Minnesota, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 7, 2025 at the age of 73. Janis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Brokke and Golda Brokke; her brother Roger Brokke; and her former husband David Countryman. She is survived by: her husband David Simons; her children, Justin Countryman (Gina) and Anne Francis (Jamie); her stepdaughters, Valerie Olson and Julia Leung; her grandchildren, Rachel, Arihanna, Matthew, MaKayla (Josh), Amber (Zach), Emily (Shane), Jaden and Kayla; her great grandchildren, Jennifer, Braylee, Vivienne, Karsyn, Steven, Violet, Hank, Winter Rose and Enix; her sister-in-law Sue Thompson; and her sibling's children, Kevin, Katie, Erik and Melissa.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (101 Buffalo Hills Ln W, Brainerd, MN 56401). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery (15550 Hwy 15, Little Falls, MN 56345).
