He was predeceased by : his parents, Olaf Helmer and Hulda Johnson (Sharon); and his siblings, Kenneth, Norman, Alton, Norris, Harvey, Arlie and Beverly (Proctor).

He is survived by : his children, Kari, Paul and Sten. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
