He is survived by: his daughters, Taryn Levins (Michael) and Lindsey Fitch (Paul); his grandchildren, Graham, Chloe Levins and Rafe Fitch; and his sisters, Cheryl Banta and Barb Heinrich (George).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to his family to be allocated in Dean's memory to charities that he held close to his heart.
