With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Gus Elling of New Hope, Minnesota, born in Brainerd, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 6, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Lisa Bruska; and his parents, Virginia Elling and Gus Elling. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Elling; his son John Elling (Sandy); his grandchildren, Ben Elling (Amanda), Addie Elling (Mike), Joe Elling (Haley), Brad Bruska, Justine Miller (Corey) and Nate Bruska; and his son-in-law Randy Bruska.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM and on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Cemetery (8151 N 42nd Ave, New Hope, MN 55427). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church (7301 Bass Lake Rd, Crystal, MN 55428). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Cemetery (8151 N 42nd Ave, New Hope, MN 55427).
