The passing of Amanda Shimota of New Prague, Minnesota leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on June 12, 2025 at the age of 91. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sigmund Schmitz and Anna Schmitz (Schommer); her husband Charles J. Shimota; her daughter Sandy Trnka; and her siblings, Clarence, Jerome, Erwin, LeRoy, Ralph, Milo and Lavina Dohmen Svihel.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Jo Turek (Gary "Toby") of Veseli, Charles F. Shimota (Eileen) of Veseli and Gary A. Shimota (Donna) of Veseli; and her son-in-law Bob Trnka of Montgomery. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 7:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Bruzek Funeral Home (610 Main St E, New Prague, MN 56071). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (4939 Washington St, Lonsdale, MN 55046).
