It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis Nickolay of New Prague, Minnesota, who passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Francis Nickolay to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Nickolay and Bessie Nickolay (Bazil); his wife Lorraine L. Shimota; his sons, Richard "Rich" and Donald; his sons-in-law, Mogens Dantoft and Jeffrey Fleming; and his siblings, John, Charles "Rock", George "Spanny", Richard, Donald, Willie and Rita Gaertner.
He is survived by: his children, David Nickolay (Sharon) of Chanhassen, Susan Dantoft (Randy Johnson) of Burnsville, Carol Pukay (Jim) of Richfield, Tony Nickolay (Lisa) of Wayzata and Robert Nickolay of Edina; his daughter-in-law LuAnn Nickolay of Elko; his sisters, Lucille Nickolay of New Prague and Ruth Huber of Montgomery; and his sisters-in-law, Gladys Nickolay of Montgomery, JoAnn Nickolay of St. Paul and Doris Lang of New Hope. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Wenceslaus Church (215 Main St E, New Prague, MN 56071). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
