He is survived by: his former wife Cindy Beer; his children, Angela Mendez (Isaias) of St. Louis Park and Christopher Jirak of New Prague; his grandchildren, Everly and Makai Mendez; his sister Donna Vlasak; and his brother-in-law Dennis Mielke.
