He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Root (Hedin) of New Richland; his son David Root (Rachel); his grandchildren, Olivia and Huck; his son Dallas Root (Kristi); his grandchildren, Rylan and Adalyn; and his siblings, Buddy (Kay), Keith, Richard Root, Mary Root and Ann Ruedy (Jeff). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
