It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Troy D. Root of New Richland, Minnesota, who passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville "Buck" Root and Monica Root; and his sister-in-law Rita Root. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Root (Hedin) of New Richland; his son David Root (Rachel); his grandchildren, Olivia and Huck; his son Dallas Root (Kristi); his grandchildren, Rylan and Adalyn; and his siblings, Buddy (Kay), Keith, Richard Root, Mary Root and Ann Ruedy (Jeff). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Calendar St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church (203 2nd St NW, New Richland, MN 56072).
