It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Asmus of New Ulm, Minnesota, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Theodore Asmus Jr. of Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church; her siblings, Delbert Stoll and Shirley Kamm; her siblings-in-law, Melvin Kamm, Harold "Red" Maidl, Sharon Stoll and Delilah Maidl; and her parents, Herbert Stoll and Evelyn Stoll (Schroeder).
She is survived by: her children, Julie Fromm (Paul) of Lino Lakes, Vicki Drexler (Tim) of Zumbrota, Steven Asmus (Annette) of New Ulm and Gregg Asmus (Catherine) of Shakopee; her brothers, Larry Stoll (Lois) and Gayel Stoll (Sharon); and her husband Donald Laeffelmacher. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren with the 13th great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (201 N State St, New Ulm, MN 56073).
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
