He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Markgraf and Laverna Markgraf; and his siblings, Darwin Markgraf (Cathy Berg) and Virginia Sorensen (Harold). He is survived by: his wife Becky; his children, Beth Kretsch (Kevin), Dan (Carol Birkholz), Pete (Michelle Ewart), Wendy Menard (Michael) and Amy Rich (Terry); and his sister Muriel Bartels (Carl) of Onalaska, Wisconsin.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (201 N State St, New Ulm, MN 56073). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location.
