He was predeceased by : his parents, Albin Frank and Martha Bernice Melquist (Nelson); and his brothers, Arvid and Vernon. He is survived by : his niece Annica Hornick (Mike) of Volga, SD; his great-nephews, Joe Hornick and Chris Hornick; and his sister-in-law Alvina Melquist.
