With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ernest R. Kretsch of New Ulm, Minnesota, who passed away on May 8, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Ernest Jr.; his parents, Anton Kretsch and Eleanor Kretsch (Haala); his in-law Birgitta Schroepfer; his brothers, Pat and Paul Kretsch; and his in-laws, LaDonna, Alphonse Mathiowetz, Barb, Dave Jensen, Robert Schroepfer and Melvin Braun.
He is survived by: his children, Bradley Kretsch (Kellie) of Hugo and Mary Bauer (Mike Doblar) of New Ulm; his grandchildren, Joshua Kretsch (Sabrina), Gina Kretsch (Stephen Chang), Stacey Kretsch, Brittany Speltz (Kevin), Ryan Bauer and Maria McMonagle (Eric); his sister Monica Wenninger (Randy) of New Ulm; his sisters-in-law, Colleen and Janice Kretsch of New Ulm; his in-laws, Sylvia Braun, Kate Marcus (Rick), Linda Schroepfer, Dick Schroepfer (Lindy) and Tony Schroepfer (Shirley); and his wife Theresia Schroepfer. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
