As we bid Gerald farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Gerald is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton Eastman and Nina Eastman (Crandall); his sister Ellen Lee Hewitt (Eastman); and his granddaughter Krista "Rainey" Schubert. He is survived by: his wife Judy (Sumner); and his children, Brenda Seidl (Maurice), Shawn Eastman (Carin), Karry Schubert (James "Jimmy") and Andrea Eastman. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Ulm South Chapel (600 S Broadway St, New Ulm, MN 56073). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
