He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Wieland and Ella Wieland (Meyer); his wife Beatrice Coates; and his siblings, Florence Ginkle, Viola "Ole" Rockvan, Vera Meredith, Alice Robinson, Laura Richter, Hilda "Nippy" Breu, Willard, Norman, Harold "Mushie" and Vernon "Ader" Wieland.
He is survived by: his son James Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Sherry. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grand-daughters and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
