She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Riederer and Matilda Riederer (Platz); her siblings, James, John, Leonard, Brother Cletus, Gerald, Eugene Riederer, Alyce Sprenger and Marie Hillesheim; and her nephews, Dean Reiderer and Michael Hillesheim.
She is survived by: her children, Brian Johnson (LuAnn Roberts) and Jody Schmiesing (Dave); her grandchildren, Tyler Schmiesing (Grace Raatz), Wade Johnson (Bryson Milburn), Logan Johnson, Kyle Schmiesing (Abby) and Jenna Miller (Matt Ness); her great grandchildren, Tucker, Taylor Schmiesing, Jace Miller, Eli, Kellan and Marley Schmiesing; and her sisters-in-law, Lorell Riederer and Mary Ann Riederer. She is also survived by other in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (605 N State St, New Ulm, MN 56073). Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Ulm South Chapel (600 S Broadway St, New Ulm, MN 56073). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel (218 N Broadway St, New Ulm, MN 56073).
