He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Barnell; his brother Orval Marquardt Jr. (Nancy); and his parents, Orval Marquardt and Myrtle Marquardt (Ulrich). He is survived by: his children, Tammy Marquardt-Pieper (Bernie) of Shakopee, Mitchell Marquardt (Robin) of New Ulm, Darren Marquardt (Mary) of Courtland and Michael Marquardt of New Ulm. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews.
