It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Filzen (New Ulm, Minnesota), who passed away on June 24, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Filzen; her great grandchild Jackson Stewart; her brothers, Gary Hesse and John; her siblings-in-law, Judy Hesse, Mabel Kral, Gladys Elrod, Phyllis Gulden, Donald Filzen, Roger Filzen and James Holm; her godson Travis Keute; and her parents, Elmer Hesse and Loretta Hesse (Rieger).
She is survived by: her children, Carrie Meredith (John) of New Ulm, Julie Hellendrung (Ross) of New Ulm, Terry Filzen (Lisa) of Duluth and Dale Filzen (Laura) of New Ulm; her grandchildren, Brandon Rodewald, Nathan Rodewald, Cody Rodewald, Tamara Hellendrung, Russell Hellendrung, Andrew Hellendrung, Justin Filzen, Raquel Rilzen, Iarkin Lalor, Landon Lalor, Langston Lalor, Tiffany Stewart, Toni-Ann Weber, Marcus Weber, Marqavion Heafner and Tylee Heafner; and her siblings, Donna Holm of New Ulm, Lois Keute (Arlyn) of New Ulm, Dave Hesse of New Ulm, Steven Hesse (Jenny) of New Ulm and Leo Hesse of New Ulm. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
