He was predeceased by : his wife Marlys Reinhart; his son Jeff Kitzberger; his grandson Jesse Kitzberger; his parents-in-law, Irenaeus "Sam" and Lucy Reinhart (Zins); his siblings, Arlene Clyne and Duane Kitzberger; his siblings-in-law, Kenneth, Ronald Reinhart, Irene Kitzberger and Arlene Kitzberger; his nephew Steve Kitzberger; and his parents, William Kitzberger and Cecelia Kitzberger (Petersen).

He is survived by : his children, Vernon J. Kitzberger (Pam), Sandra Gareis (Fred), Rich Kitzberger (Holly), Julie Lilleodden (Jeff), Ellen Preisinger (Randy) and Kathy Hulke (Scott); his daughter-in-law Kathy Rathmann (Rick); his grandchildren, Rachel Hansen (Justin), Matt Kitzberger, Jenny Kral (Scott), Justin Kitzberger (Kelsey Joines), Rachelle Cihak (Luke), Molly Kaiser (Zach), Jill Gareis, Andy Kitzberger (Shelly), Scott Kitzberger, Jaime Zander (Tim), Jacob Lilleodden, Kelsey Preisinger, Sarah Preisinger (Cooper Yackley), Leah Preisinger, Megan Hulke (Willie Osborne) and Travis Hulke; his siblings, Lois Murphy (Jerry), Joann Elwood (Larry) and Melvin Kitzberger (Diane); and his sister-in-law Anna Stevenson. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
