He was predeceased by: his wife Joann Bastian (Michaletz); his parents, Louis Bastian and Elenora Bastian (Altmann); his great grandchild Frances Bigham; his brother Bernard Bastian; and his brother-in-law Frederick Hoffmann.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Bastian (Anna) of St. George, Mary Kay Reiff of Minneapolis, Connie Holmgren (Thomas) of North Mankato and Joseph Bastian (Natalie) of St. George; his grandchildren, Abby Holmgren (Matt), Allison Strei (Trey), Audra Bastian, Ila Reiff, Erik Reiff, Elizabeth Holmgren (Cody), Megan Bigham (Billy), Claire Bastian (Austin) and Aidan Bastian (Emerson); his great grandchildren, Adeline, Eloise, Amelia and Henry; his sister Bernadette Hoffmann of Sleepy Eye; his sister-in-law Marilyn Bastian of North Mankato; and his brother Jerome Bastian (Myra) of Fairfax.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. George Catholic Church.
