He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Bailey and Margaret Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Anne (Brunner); his siblings, Rod (late Marcia), Ginny Bartch (late Eddie), Mary Campbell (Tom) and Joe (Michael); his children, John (Caroline), Mary Hope (Gary), Pat (Kirsten), Mark (Michelle), Mike (Jami), Melissa Cullen (Hugh) and Joe (Sara); and his grandchildren, Katie Bracewell (James), Megan Davis (Jacque), Abby Whitehead (George), Levi Bailey, Lucy Bailey (Ethan), Fritz Bailey, Nick Bailey (Zoe), Alex Bailey, Mitchell Bailey, Patrick Cullen (Aubree), Christopher Cullen, Maria Cullen, Eleanor Bailey and Milly Bailey. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to St. John's University Bailey Scholarship Fund, Maryknoll Fritz Endowment Fund, and Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
