He was predeceased by : his father Donald Klosterman. He is survived by : his child Noami (Josh Kunz) of Bogota Colombia; his wife Jean Klosterman; his son John Zandstra of Brazil; his grandchildren, Juliet, Richard, Reimann and Lila; his mother-in-law Shirley Klosterman; his siblings, Rebecca Dierks (Steve) and Steve Zandstra (Diane); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Klosterman (Muriel) and Diane Mattione (Lou). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Messiah Lutheran Church or Concordia Classical Academy.
