He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Bartsch and Anna Bartsch; his wife Bonita Ericksen; his grandson Matthew Peterson; his great grandchildren, Violet Lachmiller and Everly Gilles; his sons-in-law, David Schroeder and William Gilles; and his siblings, Arno, Leonard, Irene Kunkel, Leona Garman and Anita Born.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Lachmiller (Daryl) of Rapidan, MN, Marcy Peterson of Winona, MN, Becky Schroeder of Rogers, AR, Brian Bartsch (Maria) of Good Thunder, MN, David Bartsch (Lynn) of Good Thunder, MN, Amy Gilles of Ellsworth, WI and Sarah Miller (Chris) of Good Thunder, MN. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (137 S Houk St, Good Thunder, MN 56037).
